Villa Orange in Frankfurt

Hi

I would like to hear some opinions about Villa Orange Hotel in Frankfurt.

We are going to stay 2 nights on Easter(21 and 22 March, friday and saturday nights).

First we are planning to stay at NH Frankfurt City, but after seen the Villa Orange website we think it will be a good option too.

Any advices about the two Hotels and the area are very welcome.

We would like a very central location for the main signs and shopping.

Thanks for your help

Great choice! It%26#39;s in the heart of the Nordend residential area. It%26#39;s upper middle class with great genuine nightlife just around the corner. Do make sure you walk UP Berger St. all the way to the 16th-century built Gasthof Zur Sonne (local cuisine restaurant). According to the French newspaper Le Monde Berger St. in Frankfurt is much longer than Champs Elysees and much more charming - although in quite a different way! There%26#39;s an underground train running right underneath that street so you don%26#39;t have to walk both ways ;-) The Sch?neberger bar also is quite something... And there is a genuine Irish pub called MacGowan%26#39;s which is the center of Canadian/English/Irish ex-pat life in Frankfurt. Live music every Friday and Saturday...

Danke Andreas for your reply. It looks great for a weekend break in Frankfurt!

Romerberg,Zeil, the Museums(Modern Art and Stadelsches Kunstinstitut) and the Main Tower are a walking distance from Villa Orange?

From the NH you could have walked. From the Villa Orange it%26#39;s 2 to 3 underground stations to those places. But believe me, it%26#39;s worth the hassle. The Villa Orange is in a genuine Frankfurt neighborhood whereas the NH is right besides a Westin Grand hotel, a McDonald%26#39;s... you get the picture...

You are right!

We also prefer to stay in a lively area of the city insted of being one more turist in Frankfurt!

Danke

Do take the time to explore Berger St. which starts from Merian square just about one block from your hotel (also one of your two underground stations). Do walk up Berger St. which is like a round-the-world-ticket. You will find shops and stores operated by people from countries you had no idea before. If you feel hungry do try bites of food here and there... and once you get to Sch?nebergers or Zur Sonne have a cider spritzer (Sauer Gespritzter) to fresh up...

Thanks again Andreas for your helpful advices about the area.We are so exciting about our 9 days trip to Germany. We are going to start in Berlin, after Heidelberg,Frankfurt and last day in Cologne. It will be our first time in all those places except in Cologne where we had been 4 years ago.

We would like to go to an Opera performance in Frankfurt.I have seen their website and I think it is possible to reserve the tickets by phone.Do you know if I can do it in English?
