I will be in Germany for approximately 10 days at end of May and would love some suggestions on where to go! We%26#39;ll be starting in Berlin (my spouse is there for a conference) and then would like to travel by car or train to the west - either Hamburg or Hannover.
I am an architect so would be interested in seeing some contemporary and modern buildings and cities (we also plan to travel through Dessau to see the Bauhaus), but we also are big on hiking so it would be nice to make some day hikes in the forest or mountains - perhaps head to Goslar for a day or two.
In terms of architectural interest, which of the two cities (Hamburg/Hannover) would people suggest to visit? Are there any architectural websites that list buildings of interest?
Thanks!!!

There are rumors that there will be a new release this year.

undoubtedly interesting will be the HafenCity project

Harz mountains are for sure a good idea for hiking.
From Berlin Quedlinburg and Wernigerode are easier to reach than Goslar.

Saturdays and Sundays there are direct trains to both towns

These are Non-DB trains. You have to buy the tickets from the conductor in the train.

Hi,
in Hamburg, there is quite a lot of modern architecture, the most famous probably the New Hafen City which is currently being built:
