Enjoyed about 4 days in Munich last week! My report!
1. Did the 3rd Reich walking tour with Munich Walk Tours (10 Euros). This was interesting and worth the money. Tours are in English; I recommend this.
2. Went to Dachau Concentration Camp. I got there about 10AM, had enough time to look around the grounds and see everything outside before the 22 minute movie in English at 11:30AM. After the movie, the museum has an extensive chronological history of the Dachau camp that can be looked at. I don%26#39;t recommend paying the 20 euros from a tour company to go there, unless you are just totally incapable of navigating yourself there with public transportation, which by the way was an easy S-bahn train to Dachau and a 10 minute bus ride. Allow 5 hours for everything.
3. All stores in Munich, other than restaurants, cafes, bars, are closed on Sunday. Don%26#39;t plan to do any shopping on a Sunday. Instead, use Sunday for Dachau, the castles, or another day-trip.
4. Public transportation in Munich is excellent (U and S-bahn trains), and the people of Munich are very friendly.
