Best area to stay

Hi, we are booking flights to Bremen for the

football game between Glasgow Rangers and Werder Bremen on 13th March. Will be staying from 11-15th.

Can anyone recommend central area or whatever. I like somewhere central and asfe so as I can do some shopping etc and to be near enough stadium/transport for hubby to get to the match. Any tips would be most welcome

We stayed in Mariott Hotel , which we liked and it is at walking distance to the city
