We%26#39;re in Munich at the beginning of Apr and are planning to come over to garmisch-partenkirchen and hike. Is it the right weather to hike?

That would depend on how late winter goes and how high you%26#39;d like to hike. At present, we are experiencing an early Spring, but forecast indicates winter will return next week bringing more snow. Generally speaking, the ski season ends for the lower slopes right about the time you are planning to visit as the weather is generally too warm for good skiing. The ski season on the Zugspitz runs on or about the first weekend of May. Having said that, what kind of hiking you are planning, day hikes or overnight hikes, and your equipment will play a part. There are many hikes around the lower mountains that are quite nice even now and with the proper attire, hikes in the higher areas are also very good. All in all, you can probably expect plenty of hiking opportunites during that weekend.
