Driving from Frankfurt to Luxembourg

A colleague and I will be driving from Frankfurt to Luxembourg this coming weekend to attend a meeting in Luxumbourg City on Monday. We have heard a lot about the Rhine Valley, and wanted to do some sight seeing on the way. But we are not sure what would be suitable in this cold weather - expected to be rainy and around 82C. Any suggestions?

At the moment weather is very nice : sunny and 15.

I think it is to early to know the weather for the coming weekend.

If it is sunny , drive trough the Rhine and Mosel yalley to Luxemburg . If not, take the motorway and visit Trier on the way. Trier is the oldest german town and always worth to visit, also in the rain.

You could drive the Rhine river gorge on your outbound journey and the Mosel river valley on your return. Both is perfectly doable.

If you%26#39;d take the freeways between Frankfurt and Luxembourg your total journey time per leg would be 2 1/2 hours. So just tour the river valleys as long as you like and as long as weather is permitting and then just jump over to the freeway and finish off the drive ;-)

Thank you for your suggestions. We will hope for sunny weather and will drive in leisure by both rivers, and stop in Trier too. :)

Well, today it was only raining once: From around 11am until... still right now.
