munich/fussen/innsbruck

hi we%26#39;re planning a trip to germany/austria from dublin. we%26#39;re interested in munich and then plan to go to neuschweinstein castle. it seems that innsbruck is not too far away from fussen but searching on how to go there from neuschweinstein castle seems complicated. whats the best way to go to innsbruck? is it better to go munich-innsbruck? how long does it take to go there and what kind of transportation is available. thanks in advance

You can go from Fussen to Garmisch-Partenkirchen by bus (2 h) or by bus+train(2,5-3 h). At least the train route is very scenic. From Garmisch there are trains to Innsbruck (1,5 h). This route is also very scenic.

But lot%26#39;s of mountains between.

You can reach both places from Munich more straight.

Also an option: as there are not many buses from F��ssen to Vils or Reutte you can use a taxi from F��ssen to Vils (~ 10 km) and by train from there.

thank you all so much seems like the quickest way then is from munich since our base is munich and we don%26#39;t have much time then we might just do a day trip from there instead from fussen
