Bayern Landers Ticket

Quick question about the Bayern landers ticket. I know on weekdays it is only valid after 09:00. Can I purchase the ticket before 09:00, and stamp it after 09:00, or does it have to be purchased after 09:00? I ask because there%26#39;s a 09:05 train from Munich to Nurnberg that I want to catch, and I%26#39;m not sure I%26#39;ll have time if I have to wait until 09:00 to purchase the ticket. Thanks!!

I think you can buy it before nine, but only travel after nine. But be careful you will not be able to use all trains.

You can buy the Bayern ticket anytime but if you buy it from a machine it will be date stamped for use on that day. You could buy the ticket earller from a window agent and have it dated for the day you wish to use it but that will cost an extra 2 .

The 09:05 Regional Express train is very popular with day trippers to Nrnberg and seats fill up quickly. It will be at the platform and ready for boarding at around 08:40.

Buy the ticket from a machine at 8:30 and board the train.

You can buy it anytime.

You can also stamp it anytime. Important is only the date - not the time of stamping.

If you buy however from a DB ticket machine at the train station it will already have a date (of today as long as you don%26#39;t select another date) on it. You only have to stamp it if you buy it from MVV ticket machines (e.g. at U-Bahn or tram stops).

Thank you all so much for the advice. We are planning on stopping next week in Nurnberg for a few hours on the way to Rothenburg ODT for a night. If the 9:05 is crowded, we could always just back it up to 11:05.

Thanks again!

These trains to Nuremberg start in Munich. If you%26#39;re there 10 minutes or so in advance it should be no problem to find seats for you.
