My family of 4 (including 2 teenagers) will have a layover at the Frankfurt airport. We arrive at 7:30am and depart again at 4:00pm. Does anyone have any ideas of what we might do during this time? I want to try to keep the kids awake. I thought that we could fly standby on the next flight out to Venice but I was told that I would be charged over $300E per ticket to go on the earlier flight. Therefore, I am looking for suggestions to pass the time. Thanks

Well, what is your family into? Are you interested in historical sights, like the cathedral in which the Emperors of the Holy Roman Empire of German Nations were crowned? Or visit the private rooms of the last German emperor (Kaiser)%26#39;s wife that look like she%26#39;d just stepped outside?
Here%26#39;s an overview of downtown sights. The trains from the airport go directly to Hauptwache (sight #18 on the map)...
Or are you looking for some kind of guided tour, someone to pick you up at the airport and %26quot;entertain%26quot; you for the day?
Or is shopping what could keep your teens and you awake?
