We are planning to go to Germany (including days in Munich) in September before Oktoberfest. Are the hotel prices going to be more expensive a few days before Oktoberfest also? I guess my rationale is that prices would go up so they can get the people who go early so they can be there for day 1. TIA!

Hi, I booked a room at the Royal Hotel from 3-9 Sept (single) and the room rate was EUR54 per night. I wanted to stay again from 1-3 October (ie. towards the end of Oktoberfest) and the rate for the same room jumped to EUR250 per night. My German colleagues say that%26#39;s pretty normal for Munich. I did however find a simple B%26amp;B next to the main train station in Munich (share bathroom here) for EUR70 per night over 1-3 Oct. which will do the job (Pension Asta) info@pension-asta.de.
