Staying in wedding

I am going to be staying Liebenwalder Street in the district of wedding. I have read a few replies in the forums and am thinking of reconsidering. We are three irish lads going over there for the wine women and song so I would appreciate if you would let me know just how bad this area actualy is.

I mean we are not choir boys so I dont mind a middle-working class area to stay in as all we will be doing is sleeping and showering in the place but would you advise me to reconsider or do you think we will be safe enough?

Thanks

Dangerous it isn%26#39;t. There are hardly any places in Berlin that are really dangerous. You might see the occasional guy in the underground station who looks like he doesn%26#39;t wait for a train but for customers (make eye contact for too long and he will ask you if you want some stuff); lots of bored frustrated immigrant youth in this area.

The %26quot;problem%26quot; might be that it is not exactly somewhere %26quot;cool%26quot; with lots of clubs/bars/etc. nearby. Public transit is good (and also safe at night), so even that is not a huge problem but of course it might be better to stay in Mitte proper or Prenzlauer Berg.

Well thats brilliant, as i say we will just be sleeping there and head into Mitte at night. Are cabs/taxis expensive over there I mean how much would a taxi cost from mitte to wedding? It will be between 3 people so it will cut the costs a bit.

Thanks for the heads up!

There are stops of the U-Bahn lines U9 and U6 nearby. These lines runs through the night Fr/Sa and Sa/Su. And on weekdays nights you have the nightbuses N9 and N6 serving these routes.
