I have purchased a Eurail Select Pass for three countries. I read on one web site that the Eurail Pass is not valid on the ES. But then I read on another web site thst it is valid and all we have to pay is $15 for a first class reservation.
Can you help me understand this?

You need to know that the Eurostar doesn%26#39;t travel to Frankfurt - thus the lack of a response.
You%26#39;ll need to post it in Paris, London, or Lille -- the three major stops on the Eurostar line.
The final answer will be from the people from whom you%26#39;ve purchased the pass (Rail Europe, I%26#39;m guessing) -- we here don%26#39;t have access to the fine print -- and that%26#39;s where the answer lies.

On Eurostar trains from UK to France and Belgium, the Eurail pass is not valid.
On Eurostar Italia - the high-speed trains in Italy - you need a 15 E reservation fee in addition to the pass.
There is no connection between the two train types called Eurostar - the names are pure coincidence.
