Could anybody tell me how much a taxi will be to the centre of frankfurt from the main airport? and how much it will be for a round trip?

Why take a taxi when there%26#39;s a much less expensive and faster way to go by S-Bahn to the Haupbahnhof (main RR) station. If yuu have to go somewhere else from there, you still can take a taxi, but save the taxi fare from the airport, which is about 20km.

Single ticket public transport is EUR 3,60. A mini group (2-5 persons) day ticket is EUR 13,70. Thus for 2 adults return already cheaper than single tickets.
The S-Bahn into the city centre is much faster than a taxi (more direct route, running underground in the city centre). Esp. during rush hours.
The station is directly in the basement of Terminal 1.

If you ask for a rip-off you%26#39;ll get one.
There is a binding taxi tariff in Frankfurt.
http://frankfurt-taxi.com/tarif.htm
~ EUR 26,00 to the city centre
There are always taxis available at the airport.
Normal way how the locals travel would be
a) to use local public transport
b) to use local public transport to the closest train station and take a taxi from there
c) hop straight into a taxi at the airport
If you want it in your very own way, like pre-booking a transfer you have to pay for the lesson. 73.92
And this for the most time consuming (the %26quot;access%26quot; layout is not made for cars/taxis waiting for their pre-booked customers) and thus slowest travel method.
Another lesson: don%26#39;t ask for a quote in
73.92 will become easily 73.92 this way.

Taxi from Frankfurt airport%26#39;s Terminal 1 to downtown (the Hauptwache area) today was 37.
Where exactly do you need to go?
