Hello,
I tried this question first in the Mainz forum but didn%26#39;t get a response, so I%26#39;m moving it to the Germany forum...
I am thinking of spending my long layover in Mainz instead of Frankfurt. I have read on other threads that it is easy to take the train from FRA right to the center of Mainz. So, I won%26#39;t have a car... I am interested in trying to do a wine tasting or visit one of the wine museums I have read about. It seems to me that most of the wineries are actually outside of town, so it would be difficult for me without a car. There is one I found that appears to be in central Mainz called Kupferberg. I saw that they have tastings and a wine museum. Problem is, their website is in German only so I can%26#39;t get any other information. Has anyone been there and can tell me if they are open daily to the public for tastings and to visit the museum, or do you have to be part of a tour? Or if you know of any other places I could go to without a car...Just interested in sampling several local wines.
Thank you!

Kupferberg is a producer of Sekt (sparkling wine/champagner).
%26gt; and can tell me if they are open daily
Yes. But you have to book in advance.
%26gt; or do you have to be part of a tour?
There are public tours at some dates
