train travel

HI, my travel agent at AAA gave me prices for two one way train tickets from Paris to Frankfurt, ($122 second class)Munich to Salzburg,($112, 2nd class) Salzburg to Vienna,($200 Freedom class) and Vienna to Prague ($178). The prices are almost double from some of the prices I have seen on-line. Should I buy my tickets in the US to have them in hand, or go to the station and buy my tickets there. Our French and German are weak at best. Also, what is the difference between a second class ticket, freedom class, and a first class ticket on the trains? Need to book tomorrow. We are traveling the beginning of May. Thanks for your help.

From: Paris Est

To: Frankfurt

Shipping of the tickets to your address is free.

Frankfurt - Munich - Salzburg - Vienna - Prague

Buy one (!) ticket for this route at the counter in Frankfurt. They will speak English.

The advantage of such an international ticket is that it%26#39;s valid 2 months and allows stopovers en route. It will be also cheaper than 4 single point-to-point tickets bought locally. Not even speaking of the prices you quoted.

The trains on this route do not require compulsory seat reservation. You may however want to reserve also seats (EUR 4,00 per train) for the longer parts Frankfurt - Munich and Vienna - Prague.
