Not much luck looking for apts/rentals on line. Also will need to purchase reliable used vehicle. I have found several websites w/ auto sales. Any and all info will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Suzie...I am a Real Estate agent in Heidelberg,. I rent my own furnished apartments, or fin dapartments or house for people that need temporary or long term housing. The furnished units are more expensive than unfurnished units. Unlike the states most apartments here you will pay a real estate fee ususally two months rent plus the tax just to rent it, then there are no lighting, built in kitchens like we have in the states etc....
So in order to help you best, tell me how long you will be staying....are you government sponsored ( paid move bringing furniture etc..) who is going to be paying,...you..or hosuing allowance) I am only asking to find out the most affordable way for you.
You can contact me through the following link.
Thank you
Bob Chandler

I moved to Heidelberg last summer and I am currently working as a contractor for the army. Since you are going to be a civil sercive employee, you should use the army housing office to locate an apartment. There is no cost involved with this process (no broker%26#39;s fee for finding you a place). There are numerous used vehicles in the area priced anywhere form $1000 up. You could expect to pay between $2000 - $5000 for a reasonably reliable used vehicle that you would feel safe driving on the German Autobahn. There is a %26quot;lemon lot%26quot; (used car lot) on the Army Family housing compley (Patrick Henry Village). People often sell there autos here before they leave the area. At any given time, there are 15 - 25 autos for sale.
Heidelberg is a great city. Have fun!

Hi,
Do you have access to DSN military phone? If so, you can call the housing office here . The office that handles leased housing can be reached at 387-3301. If you are calling from civilian phone: 011-49-6221-4380-3301. Try x3290 if first phone # doesn%26#39;t work out. They should be able to give you info on rentals, etc. There is a hotel on PHV.
Good website is:http://www.heidelberg.army.mil/sites/local/
Good luck with your move. You will love this area, it is wonderful!!

Don%26#39;t know if you are already enroute - call Keller-residence at 06224-76028 or email at info@keller-residence.com
Great idea - completely furnished flats. Better than a hotel and will fit your perdiem.

My sister %26amp; I will also be traveling to Heidelberg in September 2008 for a week and would like to find either an apartment or a room to rent rather than do the hotel thing. We would like to stay close to the Old Town. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks, kspinner@hotmail.com
