Weekend in Frankfurt

Hi myself and my wife will be spending a weekend in Frankfurt soon we are also bringing our two kids aged 4 + 9 with us. We were just wondering is there anyone out there with information on things for us to do that would be suitable for the kids. Thanks

a) do you fly to Frankfurt

b) or do you fly with Rynair (which means Hahn - not Frankfurt)

Depending on the weather, you may want to consider the following:

Palmengarten (botanical garden - good for kids)

Staedel Museum (Art Musuem)

Boat tour on the Main river (maybe even a day trip)

Zeil and Roemer (city center)

Hi thanks%26lt;for the replies, i will check out those suggestions. Yes i am flying with Ryanair. Is this far from Frankfurt itself?

Hahn is some 125 km east of Frankfurt.

In this case I would skip Frankfurt completely.

Rent a car or use the shuttle buses to/from Trier and Mainz.

I would recommend a loop through the Moselle and Rhine valley. Hahn - Trier - Koblenz - Mainz

Your kids will for sure love to stay in a castle

E.g. Burg Stahleck in Bacharch, Grafenschloss in Diez or the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress in Koblenz

Less than 2 years old are e.g. the hostels in Diez, Cochem and Bingen. Generally the standard of all the hostels is really high. 4 bed rooms with shower/WC en suite is the norm.

Does %26quot;soon%26quot; mean before 16. March?

Until this date the youth hostels in Rhineland-Palatinate have a special family offer

- dinner at arrival day

- 2 overnight stays

- 2 x breakfast

for up to 5 person

for EUR 39-65 (depends on the category of the hostel)

This price is for the complete family together.

Hahn is some 125 km WEST of Frankfurt.
