Hi,
How much would the taxi fare be from Nuernberg (Messe) to Munich Airport?
Thanks
David

About double the price of your flight. Maybe triple if you had a bargain.
You do realise its about 200 km one way, do you?
|||
Yes, I realize it%26#39;s nearly 200km as I have driven it many times.
If anyone is friendly enough to give me a serious answer, I will be grateful.
TIA

How about you asking a serious question ! !
Your quess is a good as ours.
Munich taxis charge 1,25 per kilometre for journeys of more than 10 km.

I don%26#39;t see in what way my question is not serious. I have to get from one place to the other very quickly next thursday, carrying luggage, and so it%26#39;s between hiring a car in advance (but still having to take time to return it) and a taxi.
1.25 Euros per km gives me a clue, thanks.
Comments like %26quot;your guess is as good as mine%26quot; and suggestions that I ask a serious question do not succeed in belittling me. They simply reflect badly on the friendliness of this area of TA forums.

taxi will be a expensive. use a service like
http://www.german-transfer.de
postal code of the Messe is 90471
EUR 149,00
Travel time approx. 1,5 hrs. Albeit I guess you will travel late afternoon which means rush hour. Count better 2 hrs at least.
With taxis you can negotiate the price freely if you travel beyond the area where the prices are fix.
But even if you%26#39;ll get a 50% lower rate, you will also have to pay the taxi for the return trip.
DB timetable
http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en
From: Nuernberg Messe
To: MUC
with ICE Nuremberg-Munich: 2-2,5 h
EUR 52,00
(single ticket for U-Bahn is EUR 1,90 - if this is not anyway covered by the admission ticket to the Messe)
with regional trains: ~ 3 hrs
Here the Bavaria Ticket is a good deal. EUR 19,00 for 1 person. EUR 27,00 for 2-5 persons. The Bavaria Ticket will cover the complete trip.

Excellent information which has proved really helpful in planning my trip, many thanks.

Another possibility exists-- not as cheap possibly as the train, but probably more so than the taxi.
Most rental car companies in Germany do not charge a drop off fee for one way rentals originating and terminating within Germany. You might check to see which Rental Car companies have an office at MUC and a location close to your point of origin. Check to ensure that there are no extra fees before renting, then rent one at N%26#39;berg and drop it off 2 hours later at MUC.
