Hotel rooms, Hostels, Castles or Camping?
Best way to book these?
|||
You can access most places%26#39; tourist websites by going to www.PLACENAME.de. Then go to English which will usually take you to the tourist website or go to tourismus. You can usually find accommodation information and book places to stay on these websites. There are also a number of websites that deal with hotel rooms throughout all of Germany.

Hotels:
www.hrs.com
www.hotel.de
Hostels:
DJH/HI youth hostels
http://www.jugendherberge.de/en/
independent ones
http://www.hostel-list.de/hostellist.htm
Unlike with hotels you book normally better directly with the hostel than through a 3rd party service.
Castle hostels:
www.jugendherberge.de/en/hostels/search/
and select %26quot;Chateau/castle%26quot;
Castle hotels:
Never seen any even remotely complete list on the net.
Camping guides:
adac.de/acfwebcd/servlet/DataServlet
is the most complete one, but
a) only in German (click on %26quot;Weiter%26quot;)
b) only free access to some information (e.g. address and phone numbers). For complete information you have to pay or buy the guide in the printed version.
Generally:
- it will depend when and where you%26#39;re traveling if you need to book in advance at all or not
- if you%26#39;re not a single traveler private accommodation (~ B%26amp;B) will be at least outside the big cities often the best option
- the best source for all types of accommodation (esp. if it comes to private accommodation, pensions etc.) are the homepages of the towns or their tourist offices. They list normally everything what is available. Other sites will list only their clientle or their customers.
