I need to be educated please. Is Octoberfest celebrated all over the Country of Germany? Where is the best for a couple of guys from Canada to head to. What all happens at Octoberfest. Can you recommend a economical hotel. And what kind a budget for two weeks? Are there web sites one can go too?

%26gt; Is Octoberfest celebrated all over the Country of Germany?
No. There are however some 12.000 more or less similar events. The generic term is %26quot;Volksfest%26quot; in German. Oktoberfest is only the one in Munich (albeit it%26#39;s mostly in September).

Oktoberfest is the largest. Also the one with the most foreign tourists.
A page with some more Volksfeste around Munich and in Bavaria

Other big ones (with more than 4 mio visitors)
Cannstatter Wasen in Stuttgart

Cranger Kirmes in Herne

Gr??te Kirmes am Rhein in Dsseldorf
There are 3 aspects
a) funfair for the whole family
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Funfair#German_Funfairs
A part which will be fulfilled by all. The bigger ones have of course more rides and other attractions.
b) beer tents
You don%26#39;t have to go home thirsty anywhere. Albeit you may guess that in wine regions beer plays not the first role.
If it comes to the size of the tents and decoration Oktoberfest is quite unique. To some extent (with less and smaller tents) other Volksfeste in Bavaria and the one in Stuttgart can compete.
c) market
Albeit most Volksfeste have developed from markets, this aspect plays a less important part today where you can buy anything at everytime of the year.
