Hi all,
I am planning to go to berlin in June and from what i read on these forums the best location to stay is in Mitte since there one finds the major attractions. Can anyone be so kind to suggest some decent budget hotels? We will be two people and wont stay much inside the hotel. We are looking for something around 70 euros per room per night. Any recomendations?
Thanks!
Paul

Motel One hotels are usually about 70 EUR per night (or a little more). Try to see if you can book Motel One Alexandrplatz
Also try Ibis and Holliday Inn Express (both on Stressemannstrasse/near Anhalter Bahnhof, if you have more than several); and the Best Western Mitte in Reinhardtstr.
Apart from that, there are several hostels in Berlin and holiday flats could be also a cheap alternative.

thanks a lot for your suggestions :-)

Anyone can give me any reviews of Hotel Agon Franke? Location seems quite good, near shopping area KuDam, near Sch?neberg, and nor far from mitte. It seems also not far from the many lakes of berlin.
What do you think about the hotel?
Thanks,
Paul

Just down Stressemannstrasse from the Holiday Inn Express that someone has mentioned is the Hotel am Anhalter Bahnhof. This is a nice, simple place that I have stayed at twice. They have very good rooms with en suite bathrooms for around 80 euros and ooms without bath for around 40 euros. Breakfast is included. I have been quite happy with the hotel, and it is located in a quiet neighborhood but within a couple minutes walk to U and S Bahn stations.

Well, the first two are just across the border in Prenzlauer Berg, but close enough to Mitte.

The reviews on the TripAdvisor page are quite mixed, but the most important thing about this hotel is what it isn%26#39;t: it isn%26#39;t in the Mitte district (not even close) and it isn%26#39;t very central. Hotel Agon Franke is located in the district of Wilmersdorf, in the southwest area of the KuDamm. This means that you will have to take bus/train for every place you%26#39;re going to - not a big issue because Berlin%26#39;s public transportation system is very good and efficient (and is also active at night), but naturally a hotel, which is closer to the main sights, is more convenient.
On the plus side: first of all, it is very close to a U-Bahn (underground) station, the Adenauerplatz. This could take you north to the vicinity of the Charlottenburg Palace and Spandau; and South-East, to the area where the Jewish and the Technical Museums are; the M29 bus near the hotel is even more efficient, bringing you to the vicinity of the Zoo station (from which you can get to the East/Mitte, where most sights are), and to the Potsdamer Platz area. From Agon Franke to Potsdamer Platz it%26#39;s about 20 minutes ride. Near the hotel, you have some restaurants and shops on the Ku%26#39;Damm, though; and it is certainly not a %26quot;dangerous%26quot; place to stay at.

Thanks.
We will have 10 nights there so quite enough to go round Berlin.

Hi,
Anyone can give me some info on motelone Ku%26#39;Damm - http://www.motelone.de/. How is the location of the hotel? It is close to the main attractions? How far is it from the waldbuhne arena? - im going to see a concert there.
Thanks,
Paul

Motel One KuDamm is right near the Zoo station, which is a very good location for shopping, getting to other places. There are also a couple of sights there. It is good to get to the Waldbuehne. afaik there is a bus straight from the location of the Motel One KuDamm to the Waldbuehne.
