I am going to Paris for a few days after spending a week in Frankfurt and would like some advice on the best way to get there. The airfares that I have found on the internet are expensive. The train is a lot cheaper but will take a lot longer and I don%26#39;t want to spend the time travelling as I have only a short time in Paris. I will be flying back to Australia from Paris.
Am I better to wait until I arrive in Frankfurt to get a cheaper flight to Paris and if so could you advise what airlines to talk to?
Thanks for any assistance.

Less than 4 hours. City centre to city centre you won%26#39;t really be faster by plane. At least no more than 0,5-1 hour.

no chance

Only Lufthansa and Air France are serving this route. Mainly as connecting flights to their hubs.

Here are some maths:
From your hotel to the airport: 30mins
Time between arrival at the airport and the actual departure of the plane: 90 minutes
Flight time to Paris air space assuming the plane can land immediately, no circling over Paris air space: 60mins
Time at CDG airport waiting for luggage and getting to ground transportation to the city center: 30mins
Journey time to downtown Paris: 45mins
TOTAL: 4 hrs 15 mins
Compared to the direct ICE journey time from downtown Frankfurt to downtown Paris: 3 hrs 55 mins
And you can sit back and relax during those just under 4 hours, you don%26#39;t have to worry about any baggage restrictions, there is no minimum check in time (as long as you arrive at the track before the doors close you%26#39;re fine), you can walk around, use your phone or laptop, have a snack or full sit-down meal etc.

Trust me--believe the other posters. I have traveled first class by train to Frankfurt and back from either Koeln or Frankfurt several times in the past 2-3- years. You csn reserve a single seat with drop down table at Frankfurt. Very comfortable compared to airports and seats.
I have also arrived in Paris by plane--you are lucky if the flights across Europe are not delayed or grounde due to circumstances beyond the control of the airlines.
Take the train: take a nice box lunch and some wine, add a travel book on Paris sights to read on the train, and arrive in style. You%26#39;ll arrive at Paris Nord station with easy access by Metro to anywhere in Paris. Enjoy your travel in Europe--I%26#39;m going again in April and am counting the days!

The new Frankfurt-Paris high speed trains that only started to operate last fall arrive at Paris%26#39; Gare de%26#39;l Est (Eastern Station).
The Thalys high speed trains from Cologne to Paris arrive at the North station.
