Connection at Frankfurt Airport

Hello,

We are flying to Frankfurt on US airways(from Philadelphia) and connecting to Lufthansa Flight to Venice.Do we have to go thru Immigration and customs at Frankfurt or we can go directly to Lufthansa Gate/Transfer Desk.

Thanks

How should we know? This depends what kind of ticket you have booked. If this is a connecting flight as both are Star Alliance members your luggage will be transferred automatically. You%26#39;ll have to go through immigration (entering the Schengen Area) but not through customs (as long as you don%26#39;t have anything to declare in your hand luggage).

You will have your passport checked upon arrival at the immigration desk and then you will follow the signs to connecting flights. Its a easy process. Yes your luggage goes (hopefully) thru to Venice.

Thanks for the helpful information.US Airways and Lufthansa are star alliance members.

Don%26#39;t dawdle on your return flight through Frankfurt to the US if the connection time is short. You will have to go through a secondary screening process for US flights that can take almost an hour.

Ditto Marcopolko....that second screening is always a surprise. Last trip I even got taken to a curtained off area to show them my money belt that was under my clothes...that ate up some time.
