7 hours at Frankfurt airport

Hi,

Any suggestions what to do on a 7 hours stopover at Frankfurt airport?

Thanks,

Catch the S-bahn to Frankfurt, Mainz or Wiesbaden depending on the type of place you would like to visit. I%26#39;m sure that you can have an excellent time in any of them.

Well, you%26#39;ve got many options. What are you interested in? Sightseeing? Shopping? Beer, Apple wine, food?

you can do a lot ,in 15 minutes you are with the metro in downtown Frankfurt . Visit the R?mer and the St?del musee with the famous Cranach exebition.

before you are going back to the airport anjoy a glas of Apfelwein with a Sauerkraut meal

best regards

I have only about 4 hours on a layover from Barcelona to Frankfurt to Detroit. I am most interested in sight-seeing and maybe lunch. Ideas?

|||

Take S8 or S9 to Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof (main train station), change on to U5 towards Seckbach but alight at Dom/R?mer station. Have a quick look at the cathedral where the emperors of the Holy Roman Empire of German Nations were crowned like 800 years ago.

Then walk the opposite direction to the big open R?mer square, have a look at the buildings, maybe at the river, have dinner at either one of those restaurants and return to the airport.

We are interested in some sightseeing and a light lunch. Is there a sightseeing tour that you can take/book at the airport? Or is it better to go on our own by metro?

Thanks,

joe sparty,

Four hours is hardly enough time to leave the airport. When you re-enter, you will have to go through a first security check for everyone, immigration, and another possible hour long security check for people traveling to the US which you will have to go through whether you leave the airport or not. Coupled with possible long walks through terminals or bus rides if your plane stays on the tarmac, and travel to and from Frankfurt by S-bahn, you will have no time to really see anything. There are shops at the airport and places to eat both airside and on the non-secure side, but more non-airside.

I agree...4 hours is not long enough to leave...are you counting the amount of time it actually takes to get off the plane...which can be awhile. If you want to feel like you have left the airport..go across the skybridge to the Sheraton Hotel...I had a delicious apple strudel and coffee over there in the lounge off the lobby..quiet and relaxing as well.
