We will go via rental car from Munich to the Black Forrest area the end of March. We would like to do some walking tours, and tour the cuckoo clock museum. Any advice on activities and a hotel choice before we leave to go up to the Heidelberg area. My adult american children will not be interested in the nude bath houses, so we will skip that. Could we do the Black Forrest in a day or a day and a half. We%26#39;re short on time and trying to fit in as much as possible. Thanks for any advice.

German Glock Museum in Furtwangen

also famous for cuckoo clocks: Triberg

here the waterfalls would also make a nice walk

further towards Baden-Baden you can find the Black Forest Open Air Museum Vogtsbauernhof

%26gt; will not be interested in the nude bath houses
Personally I see the Friedrichsbad as a highlight of Baden-Baden.
At the Caracalla Spa bathing area clothing is compulsory

I would visit Burg Hohenzollern, just to the east of the Black Forest (www.burg-hohenzollern.com). It not only is very picturesque and fairytale-like, but is also one of Germany%26#39;s most significant castles being the family seat of Germany%26#39;s influential Prussian family the Hohenzollerns, and in fact was part of Prussia until the formation after World War II of the German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg from their lands and the states of Baden and Wuerttemberg.
By the way, the Black Forest is about 50 miles wide and 100 miles long so you will be seeing only a small part of it.

(but you shouldn%26#39;t mind church bells :-))
A scenic round-trip by car, including both the Black F. High-Road and the Baden-wine-road:
Head towards %26quot;Schwarzwaldhochstrasse%26quot; (B500) and go via Buehlerhoehe to Mummelsee and Ruhestein. There, instead of continuing the B500 to Freudenstadt, turn right and go downhill (road K370) to Allerheiligen-
Oppenau and via the wine-villages Oberkirch, Kappelrodeck, Lauf, Neusatzeck, Buehlertal, Neuweier and Varnhalt, back to Baden-Baden.
The roundtrip is about 100 km.
Europes steepest funicular railway is climbing Merkur-Mountain:

The %26quot;Altes Schloss%26quot; (old castle) is a huge ruined castle, overlooking the town and the Rhine Valley:
