Hi -
We%26#39;re a family of four coming from Boston to take a trip to Munich and then take the train to Vienna. I was thinking of stopping off in Salzburg and wonder if we can do that with one ticket -- or perhaps it makes more sense to get the Bavaria ticket in Munich and use that to get to Salzburg, and then get a ticket from Salszburg to Vienna separately?
Any advice?

Yes.

This will be the cheaper option.

Thanks for your reply. Is the Bavaria ticket good for a family of four? Or does each person have to buy their own?
Thanks...

The normal Bavaria Ticket for EUR 27,00 is good for 2-5 persons. Thus also for 4. You need only this one ticket.

Such a deal! I know we can%26#39;t travel before 9.00 AM. Are there other constraints on the Bavaria ticket?
Thanks again...

Yes - you can only take regional trains (RE, RB) and also local mass transit in Munich (S- and U-Bahn, trams buses). But not the long distance trains (IC, EC, ICE). There is a hourly RE connection between Munich and Salzburg, so it shouldn%26#39;t be too constraining.
The 9:00 restriction only applies Mo-Fr
