Stag do

Hi all

i%26#39;m arranging a stag do for my mate in june and would like to go to Hamburg. i%26#39;d love to hear from anyone who has done this recently. Any tips on bars/hotels etc would be appreciated

Hi there,

it depends on what you want. There are so many possibilies. Do you just want to go clubbing, are you more interested in bars or do you want a strip club?

Most stag nights take place on the Reeperbahn. You can find all of the above there (depending on your taste). If you just want a bed to drop into after a party and dont mind some noise you can stay in that area. The hotel Monopol for example is directly on Reeperbahn.

Could give you some more infos if you let us know what you are looking for.

I have booked a group of us in at the Monopol later this year.

They haven%26#39;t insisted on a credit card to gaurantee the booking they just said, if we say we%26#39;ll be there thats good enough for them. I%26#39;m a bit worried about doing this, i dont want to get there and the place be booked up without us. Is this a normal way of booking hotels in Hamburg.

Also, we will be doing all of your above suggestions so i%26#39;m assuming the Monopol is a good choice.

yes a lot of hotels if you book them directly don%26#39;t ask for a credit card. (Credit cards are not that widely spread here anyways). Just ask them for a booking confrimation via e-mail. If that should be a problem, you can always call up the hamburg tourism information and cancel the booking with the hotel directly. They take bookings for most of the hotels in Hamburg (and also for the Monopol) and they do send a confirmation. But I don%26#39;t think that is necessary.

You will be in the middle of the Reeperbahn there. There are alot of bars or pubs and if you are searching for a strip club, i would suggest the Dollhouse or Susis Show bar. Both of them are the kind of the nicer ones.

You will definately find something for your taste.

Thanks for the information, i feel better about it now. The did ask for a credit card for a gaurantee but i dont have one so they took my word we%26#39;d b there.

They have also sent me a confirmation email so everthing should be fine.
