Major yearly Berlin events

Hi,

what are the major cultural events that happen every year that someone might come over to Berlin for?

stuff like the biennnale, the transmediale festival, the film festival, that sort of thing

the beer festival, usually in the first weekend in august. highly cultural in my book :-)

There is also the Karneval der Kulturen (carnival of cultures) in May/June

However, if this is for some marketing/tourism-management class assignment (because it doesn%26#39;t sound like a typical question for a tourist), I would suggest asking the Berlin Tourism Authority (www.visitberlin.de) and not to rely on what people might remember on this forum or on Google in general.

In addition, there are sports events that although not annual, might be important (and important sports events that are annual - like the Six Days , the German Finals, etc.); many conferences and congresses, etc.

Berlin never rests.

The Love Parade!! Thousands of people go to Berlin for it, it%26#39;s a hugh event.

Loveparade moved 2007 from Berlin to the Ruhr Area.
