Cologne central rail stations to Dusseldorf airport

Would there be a train that would take me directly from Cologne central rail station to Dusseldorf airport or do I need to change trains somewhere.Also would they be frequent.Thanx

You don��t get directly into the terminal. There are two stations at the airport: the terminal station which is only served by S-Bahn (suburban trains) from D��sseldorf, and the mainline airport station which has direct trains from Cologne, but from which you have to take the Skytrain monorail to get to the airport building.

In both cases a local public transport ticket (= for connections the DB timetable won%26#39;t show you prices) is EUR 9,30.

One more:

The local public transport ticket for EUR 9,30 is a zone-to-zone ticket. You can use them from any train station or tram or bus stop in Cologne to D��sseldorf airport. Just in case that you don%26#39;t stay in a hotel near the main railway station of Cologne anyway.
