Thai Food

Can anyone help, I%26#39;m looking for a good Thai Restaurant in Berlin to go to.

I have heard mixed reports on Good Time Thai Restaurant at Oranienburger Tor some people say food very bland there, others say very well presented.

Any good advise greatly appreciated!

We have been to Maothai Restaurant, W?rtherstr.30 in Prenzlauerberg. Always full, you have to make a reservation.

Maothai is certainly one of the best! There is another one by the same owner and it%26#39;s near oranienburger Tor too. It%26#39;s right at the S-Bahn station Oranienburger Strasse, on the road with the same name.

just got back from berlin today, went to the good time restaurant saturday night really nice,large portions very busy but didnt have to wait,2 starters 2 main meals 1 bottle wine 1 bottle water 60 Euros very well presented carved veg into swans,flowers ect,would go again.Sue

Soccer tickets in Munich

My son desperately would like to attend the Bayern Munchen soccer game in Munich on March 22 while we are there. Is it possible to get tickets, and what should I anticipate spending per ticket?

According to their website all matches are already %26quot;sold out%26quot; which means you cant order tickets in advance anymore. But they have some kind of ticket market there on their website called viagogo, where people with a season ticket sell their seat when they are not able to attend the game themselves. Unfortunately it is all in german. Prices are also on the FC Bayern website.

I tried to get tickets for Bayern Munich in the past.

Apparently the tickets get sold out months in advance.

But you can try emailing the ticket office.

I did and they will reply to you in english and are pretty helpful.

As for the price you might pay around 100 euros, maybe more or maybe less - not sure.

Hi kkoonze,

there is also the chance to get tickets in front of the stadium on the black market. If you are lucky enough, also for a good price. Just look around for people selling tickets.

I always have had good luck through eBay.de. Not every user uses PayPal, but I contact the seller before bidding to make sure they would send the tickets to the USA and pay for the shipping.

If you are really out of luck on eBay.de, you can go through a broker. Your going to pay a premium.

The last resort for me would be purchase tickets outside of the stadium. I am not sure of the ticket scalping laws in Munich, and I don%26#39;t want to find out the hard way.

Munich Train Ticket Question??

I noticed that there is a train leaving to F��SSEN from Munich hbf at 8:52 AM on a Friday. I read that the Bayern Ticket starts at 9:00 AM on weekdays. Do they allow this 8 minute difference or is the 9:00 AM start strictly enforced. Most train rides I%26#39;ve taken in Europe they don%26#39;t get around to checking tickets for a stop or two.

No. Not even 1 minute.

Munich Hbf dep 08:52

Munich Pasing dep 08:59 (that%26#39;s bad luck or by purpose)

Geltendorf dep 09:22

Correct way would be to buy single tickets to Geltendorf and use the Bavaria Ticket from there on.

Between Pasing and Geltendorf the conductor will be able to check quite a portion of the passengers on the train. Thus not without risk.

You can reserve tickets online for the castles.

This eliminates the risk that the next x tours are all already sold out when your arrive in Hohenschwangau. Please note that you have to collect the ordered tickets at least 1 hour before the tour starts.

I really would recommend to take the SBahn to Geltendorf such early that you get the train to F��ssen from there, then you don%26#39;t have the problem with the 9 o%26#39;clock ticket.

Parkhotel Leiser in Planegg

Does anyone have any information about this hotel? I%26#39;ve tentatively got reservations for 5 nights during Oktoberfest. Also, I%26#39;d love suggestions for daytrips while our livers are recovering! Many thanks!

Laender Tickets at weekends

I thought I read somewhere that Laender tickets bought on a Friday were good for the weekend following ~ but I may have misunderstood, it seems to good to be true.

I%26#39;m planning a trip from Heidelberg to Ottenhoefen. If I went on a Sunday, would I buy the Laenderticket on the Sunday or could I use one I%26#39;d bought and used on the Saturday? the Friday? I think I must have got it wrong.

There%26#39;s only one of me, so I%26#39;m looking at the Single.

L?nder Tickets are always only good for one day.

Mo-Fr from 9am till 3am next day (thus at max 18 hours)

Sa,So from midnight till 3am next day (thus at max 27 hours)

A weekend rule exists only for the VRN 24 hour ticket. If you buy in on a Saturday it is not only valid 24 hours but till 3am of the next weekday.

This won%26#39;t get you however to Ottenh?fen.

oktoberfest 2008

Can someone recommend a hotel right outside the city, that is nice? I know they would be alittle cheaper. Any advice would be great

I%26#39;ve always liked the K%26amp;K hotel in Harras. I%26#39;ve stayed there several times on business and have always been treated well. The area is nice and it would still be an easy U-Bahn ride to the Oktoberfest.
